When it comes to high-intensity daily support, “good enough” isn’t enough. You need precision, clinical oversight, and unwavering safety standards.
At Care 4 Community, we specialize in supporting NDIS participants with complex health requirements. Our team of highly trained support workers and Registered Nurses work together to deliver medical-grade support in the comfort of your own home.
High Intensity Daily Personal Activities (HIDPA) are specific NDIS supports for participants who require specialized health care. These tasks carry a higher risk if performed incorrectly, which is why we adhere strictly to the NDIS Practice Standards (Module 1).
We don’t just assign any staff member to these shifts. We assign staff who have received specific training and delegation from a health practitioner to manage your unique needs.
We are equipped and qualified to support the following complex needs across Cranbourne, Frankston, and Melbourne:
- Support for participants who cannot eat by mouth.
- Management of PEG (Percutaneous Endoscopic Gastrostomy) and JEJ tubes.
- Safe administration of feeds, flushes, and medication via the tube.
- Stoma care and infection control.
- Assistance for participants at risk of severe constipation or fecal incontinence (often due to spinal injury).
- Administration of suppositories and enemas.
- Strict monitoring and recording of bowel charts to prevent autonomic dysreflexia.
- Daily care for Indwelling (IDC) and Suprapubic (SPC) catheters.
- Emptying drainage bags, hygiene maintenance, and monitoring for signs of UTI (Urinary Tract Infection).
- Ventilator Management: Support for participants dependent on mechanical ventilation.
- Tracheostomy Care: Suctioning and keeping the airway clean.
- Oxygen Therapy: Safe administration and monitoring of oxygen levels.
- Blood glucose monitoring (BGL) for unstable diabetes.
- Administration of Insulin via pen or pump.
- Management of Hypo/Hyperglycemic episodes.
- Support for high-risk seizure activity.
- Administration of emergency medication (e.g., Midazolam) as per the management plan.
We take the responsibility of your health seriously. Our High-Intensity service model includes:
- Clinical Oversight: All high-intensity care plans are reviewed by our Registered Nurses.
- Specific Training: Staff undergo “client-specific” training. This means they are trained on your specific equipment and your body, not just a generic dummy.
- Collaboration: We work directly with your hospital discharge team, GP, or treating specialist to ensure our care plan matches their medical orders exactly.
- We Are Qualified: We meet the NDIS verification requirements for High Intensity Supports.
- We Are Consistent: Complex care requires routine. We provide a small, dedicated team of workers who know your medical history inside out.
- We Are 24/7: Medical needs don’t sleep. Neither do we. We offer active overnight support and 24-hour care.
If you have High Intensity funding in your NDIS plan, you need a provider you can trust with your life. Let’s have a confidential conversation about your needs.
